Greg met Maggie, a native New
Englander, in his home state of North Carolina. They moved to
Florida, Texas, and finally Rhode Island. They first visited Springfield
when Maggie's sister and brother-in-law moved from New Hampshire for the
value of the city's homes. Maggie's mother then moved from Maine to a
great condo be closer to family. In 2004, Maggie and Greg relocated as
well, buying an 1880s brick row house which they could not have afforded
in Rhode Island.
Maggie, a piano instructor,
was thrilled to build a clientele quickly, finding families who believe
a well-rounded education involves music. Greg, an airline pilot,
commutes to work from Bradley International Airport, just 20 minutes away. Unlike
their last location, where the neighbors were friendly but not inclusive, they both
agree they soon made friends here. They enjoy local music offerings, Springfield's
architecture, walking to downtown amenities, and the easy drive to the
Berkshires and other day trip locations. And, they've begun an intimate house music
series to showcase regional talent in their lovely home.
